Veet Vedano Style
Veet Vedano are Sanskrit words that mean "going beyond pain and suffering." As a style of art, this means that each of my creations is meant to inspire and transcend viewers rather than plunge them into a state of confusion or negativity.
My art is conceived in a meditative state. This is a place of balance where we can experience the center of the universe. Here, the answers exist for each of us, without requiring that we ask the questions.
My art offers the gift of healing. By opening the door to the universal unconscious, magic and miracles await you.
My hope is that you choose to cross the threshold.
Statement From the Artist
Using mixed media (canvas, wood, pigments), organic material (seeds, sand, soil, rocks and crystals), and found objects, my work fuses three-dimensional form and painting. Conceived as primordial yet focused forms, these constructs suggest the very beginning stages of existence. This elemental quality of my work encourages a multidimensional reading rather than one of an objective appreciation of color, texture, and design.
By mediating materials and objects that suggest timelessness, my work embraces the subject thought form and travels with it back to the silence and emptiness of its origins, where it is born anew in both individual and collective consciousness. My intent is to assist in opening doors and activating memories of shared cosmology and the essential nature of life. While I have no interest in creating objects that regurgitate cultural structure, my work does attempt to connect with the world culture that exists beyond everyday knowledge -- in essence, to the dream that existed before.
Archetypes and symbols are embedded in our mental and emotional landscapes, so it is natural for me to use them extensively in my constructs. From the magical images in myths, dreams, fairy tales, and literature, to characteristics of flora and fauna, the ancient and modern symbolism in my work invokes elusive dimensions of the conscious and unconscious. This deeply-embedded, symbolic language is a reminder of the effortless and harmonious interaction that occurs throughout time between the unconscious and conscious during cycles of creativity, as well as cycles of destruction. This symbolism, and indeed the direction of my work, transcends the ordinary and points to "yes."
Creation is only the projection into form of that which already exists. -- Shrimad Bhagavatam
